She Started her film acting career in 2001, directed by Sathyan Anthikkad, hero is Kunjakko Boban and film is Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka. It was a funny family movie, screen play by Sreenivasan become one of the great hit in malayalam film industry. But after it Asin did not cast for any other malayalam films. She turned her view to Telugu film industry and debuted in 2003. Her first movie was a big box office hit.

In the year 2004 she turned in to Tamil film industry and her debuted film in tamil come out in the same year named M.Kumaran s/o Mahalakshmi. It was a super duper hit and she got more chances in Tamil Industry. 

In 2005 she considered as lady super star in Tamil by the name of Gajani, a super mega hit in Tamil. It was remake in almost all Indian Languages. By this film Asin entered in to Hindi film industry introduced by Amir Khan. She acted with Kamalahasan in Dasavatharam and it also a super hit in Tamil.
